PAW PAW LAWYER RICHARD BURNHAM HONORED AT OCTOBER !8 AWARDS EVENT

More than 100 of his colleagues and family gathered at the Kalamazoo Country Club on Thursday, October 18, to honor attorney Richard K. Burnham's long years of service to Legal Aid of Western Michigan.

Attorney Burnham, who has practiced in Paw Pau for more than 40 years, has provided many of hours of pro bono services to low income and Senior clients as well as serving as a member of the Board of Directors for more than 25 years.

In presenting the award, Board President James Boerigter noted that Burnham's contribution to the work of the Board and the program has been so important because  "he is always the guy who can cut through to what's important and keep us focused: 'Does it help us serve clients better'?"

The award was presented at the annual reception at which the John Vlachos Pro Bono Award, recognizing an attorney who has provided outstanding pro bono service to Legal Aid.  The award is named in honor of John Vlachos, a former Board member and Legal Aid supporter, and the reception was co-hosted by the Kalamazoo law firm of Vlachos & Vlachos.
