Attorney Mary L. Benedict, 2011 Mike Barnes Award Recipient
Mary L. Benedict, a solo practitioner in Grand Rapids, who has volunteered more than 1500 hours of her time in more than 50 cases since 1993 through Legal Aid's Pro Bono Program was the honored guest at the annual event at the BOB on Thursday, October 27.

ACLU hosting "School to Prison Pipeline" in Kalamazoo
The ACLU of Michigan’s Southwest Branch will host a public forum on September 28th at the Douglass Community Center at 1000 West Paterson Street, Kalamazoo, MI, from 7:00pm-8:30pm on the school-to-prison pipeline’s impact on students in Kalamazoo. Students and parents of students are encouraged to attend as the topic of conversation will center on students’ rights and responsibilities pertaining to suspensions and expulsions.
