Addressing Problems in the Community
LEGAL AID OF WESTERN MICHIGAN HAS DEVELOPED SPECIAL EXPERTISE IN SOME AREAS OF LAW WHERE THERE IS A NEW OR CRITICAL NEED IN THE COMMUNITY.
These projects have staff and funding dedicated to addressing current problems:
- REENTRY: LAWM attorneys work with people whose criminal records are creating barriers to employment, housing, public benefits and family relationships.
- FORECLOSURE PREVENTION: LAWM attorneys work with people at risk of losing their home to foreclosure.
